AN ANNUAL CALENDAR WITH A DIFFERENCE

FINALLY… My annual calendar is here, and it is like no other calendar that you’ve ever seen!

I’m not an overly confident person… I constantly have to fist-fight my own self-doubt. So you have to understand how good I feel about my first ever annual wildlife calendar when I’m able to proudly write a bold heading like the one above…

That being said — I would have loved to design the perfect calendar to suit anyone’s needs, but as we all know, that’s just not possible! Instead, I allowed my gut and values to guide me, focussing on a few important objectives, which all put this calendar in a class of its own:

1) I wanted this calendar to be more than just a calendar. I wanted it to be like a dear friend that uplifts you! It’s jam-packed with quotes, affirmations and thoughtful prompts that will hopefully inspire reflection on time gone by and positive growth moving forward. 

2) I love my country. It is a delicious mixed salad of unique ingredients! No matter our heritage, culture, orientation or religion, I believe that we should all be seen and respected. Therefore, I tried to be as inclusive as possible when adding observances and celebrations.

• Major observances from the Christian, Jewish, Hindu and Muslim faith
• South African Pride celebration dates
• Select international observances

3) Apart from celebrating South Africa’s incredible wildlife - featuring my artworks of 12 unsung, often unnoticed “little guys” - my main focus for this calendar was the eco-friendliness. Practically the entire calendar can be re-purposed and used as something else: Each page can be easily ‘upcycled’ into a greeting card, multiple gift tags, a bookmark and more!
