I told you so!

I told you so!

Art is a funny thing... Or perhaps I should rather say, the way art appeals to different people in different ways is a funny thing. For example: I love all my artworks and adore creating them. BUT -- I don't have any of my own art displayed in our home. My mom lovingly refers to the art in our home as "quirky". I am under no illusion that it leans towards the dramatically odd side of the spectrum...!

The closest I have ever come to keeping one of my own, original artworks is my quibbling Orange River white-eyes, I told you so!  There is just something about it that really speaks to me -- the strong contrast between the watercolour birds and the pen acacia branches; the unique crop and negative space; the tongue-in-cheek title; and of course the playful subject matter.

I now have a very limited run of only 20 archival quality prints available in my online shop, and the original is still available. If you'd like to see it in person, visit me at Kirstenbosch Craft and Food Market on the last Sunday of every month (from September to May).

Unless, of course, I've decided to keep it... ;)

**Update (Feb 2020): This original artwork has found its loving forever home! Bon voyage, dear friend! Visit my online shop to view archival quality prints of I told you so! or contact me to order a commission.
