Spill the paint: Under the sea baby name concept walk-through

Bubbling with excitement...! I'm about to start working on a hand-painted baby name illustration for Coralie. This little girl's mom is a sea turtle vet, and is sure to grow up adoring the ocean and the creatures that live there. It's already predicted in her beautiful name - CORAL(ie)!

Mom requested a pink octopus, manta rays, seahorses, sea turtles, a reef shark, dolphins and coral (of course!). The only sea creature that I didn't have space for was a whale shark...!

Check out the walk-through of the concept sketch down below. This is something that I prepare and share with my clients to approve before the actual painting starts. Once I touch paint to paper, it's very difficult to make alterations - watercolour is pretty unforgiving in this regard (although it's not impossible fix a watercolour boo-boo!)

PS. If you watch until the end, you'll catch a little exasperated moment that I experience often when recording content... Let's just say that I would rather be painting that thinking of content creation. I often think that whatever I'm saying is lame, or that I'm not articulating it well. OR I think about all the time I will spend sifting through and editing the rubbish I recorded -- time that I could have spent creating art instead! I'll have to create some content to share how much I loathe content creation.........!
