It's my great pleasure to introduce "Splash!".
This watercolour piece took about a month to complete. On-and-off, and as usual, a lot of time was spent on procrastinating: mindless scrolling through social media, crying, solitaire, drinking tea, staring off into space, yoga, anxiety attacks and more tea... In all seriousness (not kidding about the procrastination, though!), it was a very fulfilling experience, and I'm thrilled that I started the year off with a really challenging, "grown-up" painting. It's been a while since I painted something super-realistic (this darling baby elephant and sunbird was a recent commission), and one of my goals in 2020 is definitely to get back into it.
What made the process even more exhilarating, was that about halfway into the work-in-progress, "Splash!" sold to a dear client that visited me at our little cottage. She exclaimed, "I can hear everything!", which really just made it easier for me to let go of my baby, knowing she's going to a home where she'll be loved and appreciated for a very, very long time to come!
Although the original has been sold, I have only 20 fine art prints available in my online shop. Archival quality, hand signed and numbered, with a certificate of authenticity. And of course -- world-wide shipping is available!
For now, enjoy the step-by-step process of "Splash!". I love looking back to the odd-looking first pic I take, when I can't imagine that I'll ever get to cross the finish line...........
