"Sweet Tooth" in time-lapse
Share
There’s something oddly satisfying about watching a blank page turn into a bird, feather by feather, flick by flick...
"Sweet Tooth", my little White-bellied sunbird, took about three weeks to complete. It was a little ray of sunshine in the depths of our dark, gloomy winter! My favourite part was definitely the birdie's head and shimmering chest — I got to use a lot of colours that I've barely touched in the past. It felt like Christmas, finally being allowed to open previously unopened tubes — LOL!
And once again, a huge thank you to the incredibly talented Richard Flack for the breathtaking reference photo that brought "Sweet Tooth" to life. Without that perfect moment he captured, this piece wouldn’t exist.
The original has already flown the coop — off to Denmark! But not to worry — 20 limited edition, fine art prints are now available in my online shop.
For now, grab a cup-of-something-delicious and press play — it’s a short little video, but the painty goodness packs a punch!
