"Fight or Flight" in time lapse

I painted this big-boy artwork - the largest I’ve ever worked on - specially to enter the fabulous African Wildlife Artist of the Year (AWAY), hosted by the Fine Art Gallery in Namibia, where last year, my frolicking leopards reached the top five.
Although Fight or Flight was not selected as a finalists, I’m proud to have been part of their fund-raising initiative that accompanies this incredible showcase opportunity.
The Fine Art Gallery team puts it beautifully: “Beyond artistic distinction, AWAY continues to demonstrate measurable conservation impact. In 2025, the initiative generated N$104,735 in support of the Pangolin Conservation & Research Foundation.” This year, funds were raised for the Brown Hyena Research Project & Brown Hyena Conservation.
All the entries are up on their site, and the finalist exhibition has been extended to 17 May.
PS. Just a not-so-interesting side-note: My painting is of a Spotted hyena, and it was completely coincidental that I painted this photo (by wildlife photographer, Clint Ralph). I lost my heart on it before knowing what NPO the gallery chose to support!
