I'm not a fan of Black Friday. It encourages mindless spending and it creates an expectation that all business should offer massive discounts (that are often unaffordable to small business owners). In general, I’ve never been driven by the thrill of selling. What truly motivates me is giving back: To people, to the planet, to the creatures who inspire my work. So, in 2021, I decided to approach Black Friday differently: By using it to hone this culture of giving back in my little business. And so, Giving Back is the New Black was born.

Every Black Friday, I offer my customers a 10% discount, and donate a further 10% to a worthy non-profit. It is a simple, small-scale way to do good while helping my customers shop with purpose.
