Gone fishing: Final word for 2023

And here we are… About to draw the final curtain on 2023.

Here's all I have to say:

Be safe! We have a dear family friend that always tells me to behave like a cross-eyed pig (in Afrikaans - “gedra jouself soos ’n skeelvarkie”). I have no idea what it means… Alex’s theory is that a cross-eyed pig would have to be very careful, since, you know.. it’s cross-eyed… So — this Festive Season, behave like a cross-eyed piggy, and not a swine!

Tell your nearest and dearest that you love them, because life is too short not to!

Be happy - take every possible opportunity to laugh! Laugh until you cry! Laugh until your face cramps! Laugh until your belly-full-of-third-helpings feels like bursting!

And finally, take a moment to pat yourself on the back. Forget about the resolutions that you made 12 months ago — what did you do this year that you’re really proud of? And if your answer is “SURVIVE”, you deserve a pat on the back and a tub of ice cream!

And now for the boring admin:

Even Santa needs a break...

• As my superhero suppliers are closing over the holidays, personalised orders and out of stock items will only be fulfilled in the New Year, from 10 January.
• I’ll be taking a hiatus from social media from 15 December until 15 January. Don’t stop following! I'LL BE BACK (pardon the lame Schwarzenegger-reference… It’s been a long year!).⁠
• Since we’ll all be super hesitant to get back into the swing of things in the New Year, I’m going to hold off on sending out my newsletter until Thursday, 18 January, when most of us will probably be back to Reality. At least you can look forward to a little procrastination! ;)
