Joining Kunye Art Foundation
Kunye Art Foundation is an incredible South African non-profit doing important work to empower artists from all walks of life by providing resources, mentorship and opportunities to showcase and sell their work. But perhaps most importantly, they’ve created a supportive community where creativity, connection and personal growth can flourish!
I’m thrilled to share that I’ve just become a member! I’m even more thrilled to share that this has already delivered an opportunity take part in their Spring in Colour exhibition in the Blou Route Mall in Tokai from 1-27 September. But, I’m the most thrilled that our hand-crafted 2.5m tall wooden giraffe sculpture, Twinka, is on exhibit in the special Trash to Treasure area (which means she is finally out of our tiny living room, at least for now!). Since Twinka is made almost entirely from recycled materials, her presence there is pretty apt!
There is beautiful work on display and for sale - all originals, crafted with great passion and heart by the talented artists - every day until 27 September during the mall’s trading hours. Kunye is also hosting a colouring competition for kids!

While looking for Twinka's heart in a box (not kidding!!!), I discovered some of these really cool original paintings that I created with acrylic on recycled pallet wood. There are some birds and a few animals, too, including a meerkat, leopard and giraffe (couldn't find pics - sorryyyyy!).
