My Custom Animal Alphabet Name is a best-seller, and for good reason. I pride myself on it being a totally unique, personalised, vibrantly South African gift, even for kids who already seem to have everything.
Recently, a prospective client contacted me with a conundrum: She loves this product, but her two boys both have really long, double-barrel names. Would it be possible to make it work for them?
Even though my printers (shoutout to Comprint in Stellenbosch!!!) are fabulous in every way, size constraints unfortunately do exist! After some good ol' mulling, I suggested that we simply print the double-barrel names separately, and the hyphen will become a really cute design element that matches the frames. Even better, I knew just the framer to do the job!
Hubby Alex, from The Modest Toolbox, obliged with some stunning, modern frames, hand-crafted from recycled pallet wood. Alex does all my framing, and he's produced some real beauties! For this project, we decided on finishing the frames with clear varnish, to still show off the beautiful raw character of the wood.
Needless to say, the final product was stunning!!!
The framed pieces safely travelled all the way from Cape Town to Joburg (Yes! We ship to your door anywhere in the country!), and made two little boys very, very happy!
It just goes to show: 'n Boer maak 'n plan (a boer/farmer makes a plan)!
