It is my great pleasure to share the meticulous work-in-progress of my latest project: South Africa's favourite garden birds, now available as part of my downloadable wall art collection.
After a public vote by my loyal followers, the top three were the Southern Double-Collared Sunbird, the Crested Barbet and the charismatic Cape Robin-Chat.
I can't tell you how much fun it was creating these watercolour and pen illustrations. I'm tempted to immediately take on a few more! But alas, they will have to wait a while, as I have a few other projects that have already been waiting their turn for quite some time...
One can say that I had my "start" in birds - as a child, I used my dad's birding book as reference material to draw from. Yet another reason why I so loved creating these birdies. I also have three gorgeous indigenous SA flowers in the collection of downloadable wall art. In this blog post, I not only share the behind-the-scenes process of how the flowers were created, but also why downloadable art is the future!
